The EcoSmart Base 30 is a low square fire table in Fluid Concrete or solid teak, with the burner set into the middle of a 775mm top. It's the smaller of the two Base tables. Add the glass cover plate and it works as a coffee table when the fire is out. Choose bioethanol, propane or natural gas.
About the Base 30
The Base 30 sits low at 340mm, with a 775mm square top and a burner set into the centre, surrounded by black glass charcoal. The surround is either Fluid Concrete, which carries a stain and impact-resistant barrier to handle weather and long UV exposure, or solid teak, naturally oily and resistant to warping and cracking outdoors. Height-adjustable articulating feet let you level it on uneven paving, and ground fixing brackets are included if you want it permanently anchored.
The Base 40 is the same table at 1000mm square. Both take the same burner, so the fire is the same size and gives the same heat. The extra width on the Base 40 goes into the surround: 185mm of surface on each side of the fire, against 74mm on the Base 30. That is enough room to put drinks and appetisers down while the fire is lit. Go for the Base 30 if space is tight, or the Base 40 if you want that extra space around the fire.
Choosing a fuel
This is the decision that matters most, and it's worth getting right before you order. The burner is configured for the fuel you choose before the table ships, so it is a decision made at the point of purchase rather than something to change later.
Bioethanol holds 8 litres inside the table itself, so there's no bottle to hide. It burns cleanly with no smoke, soot or ash, and runs 7 to 9 hours on a full tank. The trade-off is heat: 5.99kW, which is comfortable warmth rather than serious output. No fuel is supplied with the table. We stock e-NRG bioethanol, which you can add to your order on this page.
Liquid propane gives 19kW, more than three times the heat, and 8 to 20 hours per tank. The bottle sits outside the table, though EcoSmart make a matching tank enclosure that conceals it and doubles as a side table.
Natural gas gives the same 19kW with no refuelling at all. The supply is run to the table, which fixes it in one position. Natural gas must be connected by a Gas Safe registered engineer, so there is an additional installation cost to take into consideration.
Both gas options are outdoor only. The bioethanol version can also be used indoors, but the table has to be configured for indoor use before it ships, so tell us when you order if that's the plan.
Where to position your fire table
The Base 30 is safe to stand on wooden decking, concrete or stone. The surface needs to be hard, flat and at least as large as the table's footprint.
Leave 610mm between the flame and fixed furniture, and 2 metres of clear space above it, which is worth measuring against a pergola or overhanging branches.
Don't place your fire table on grass, artificial turf or anything uneven, and don't remove the feet. They set the air gap the burner needs underneath, and they are how you level it.
Materials and finishes
Four surrounds: Natural, Graphite and Bone in Fluid Concrete, or natural teak. Burners are grade 304 stainless steel, with a black ceramic coated version available on bioethanol models.
The concrete needs a concrete sealant about every six months, and minor changes in colour and surface texture over time are normal for concrete rather than faults.
Teak left alone turns from honey gold to silver grey, which is a colour change rather than a sign of wear. A teak care product once or twice a year will hold the original colour.
What comes in the box
Every table includes the black glass charcoal and ground fixing brackets. Beyond that it varies:

Teak models include the glass fire screen. On concrete models it's optional, and worth adding if your terrace catches wind, since it steadies the flame and reduces fuel use.

Bioethanol models include the jerry can and safety spout, the e-NRG bottle adaptor, and the lighting rod and lighter. They also include the AB8 efficiency ring, which increases the efficiency of the burner and further steadies the flame. Fitting it outdoors is optional: with it in place the burner runs at 3.77kW and a tank lasts 9 to 11 hours rather than 7 to 9.

Propane models come with a regulator and hose. The gas bottle itself isn't supplied.
Other accessories worth considering
The glass cover plate lays over the burner and turns the table into a flat surface, which is what makes this work as furniture rather than only as a fire. There's also an all-weather cover for the table, and a silicone cover for the burner.
Delivery
Lead time is one to two weeks.
The Base 30 ships on a pallet, and pallet deliveries are kerbside only. The driver will get it to your driveway or garage on a flat, solid surface, but can't take it any further or lift it into position. At 52.4kg in concrete or 37.7kg in teak, you'll want a second person and a plan for where it's going before it arrives.

Refunds and Returns
What is the returns policy?
You have 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods, to change your mind and return the goods to us. Where the goods are split into several deliveries over different days, you have 14 days after receipt of the last delivery to change your mind.
Are there any exclusions?
You do not have a right to change your mind in respect of any goods that:
• you have damaged; or
• are no longer in their original condition (including where you have cut tags off or where you have removed any internal packaging).
How can I request a refund?

Where should I send my return?
If your return request meets the requirements in this Returns Policy, we will issue you with a return authorisation and further information on where to send your goods. We must receive the goods within 14 days of your telling us you wish to return your goods.
Please do not send any returned goods to the address at the end of this page. Any goods sent to this address will be returned to you, at your cost.
Who covers the cost of returning the goods?
We will pay the costs of the return if the goods are faulty or misdescribed. In all other circumstances (including where you are exercising your right to change your mind), you must pay the costs of return. This includes where we have agreed to collect the goods from you.
Will there be any deductions from my refund?
We may reduce your refund of the price (excluding delivery costs) to reflect any reduction in the value of the goods, if this has been caused by your mishandling. If we give you a refund before we are able to inspect the goods and later discover that you have handled them in an unacceptable way, you must pay us an appropriate amount.
