Adezz Forno Outdoor Kitchens in Corten Steel

Adezz Forno builds outdoor kitchens the way a landscape designer would, in weathering Corten steel with bamboo detailing. Each piece is substantial, and they are all built to sit alongside each other, so you can start with one and add to it over several seasons.

Most people start with the cooking piece, either a Kamado Station or the wood-fired Dome Pizza Oven. An Outdoor Kitchen Station adds a worktop and storage beside it, and the Seare grills add optional wood or gas plancha cooking on top of that.

Why Corten steel for an outdoor kitchen

Corten is a weathering steel. Left outside it forms a rich, earthy rust oxide layer that protects the steel against corrosion, which is why it holds up outdoors without paint or a cover, and why it suits outdoor cooking stations and garden features so well. The colour deepens over the first several months outside and then settles.

Two practical points before you buy. During the early weathering period the steel sheds a little rust-coloured run-off, which can mark light paving, decking and rendered walls, so sit the piece on a base or gravel. Once the patina settles that largely stops. And Adezz do not recommend Corten within 2km of a coastline, where salt air attacks the patina faster than it can form. If you are on the coast, contact the team: the Kamado Station is also made in powder-coated aluminium.

What is in the range

Kamado Stations. A base unit built to take almost any type of kamado, with a Neolith ceramic worktop that is hygienic, hard-wearing and easy to clean, and a cupboard underneath for charcoal and tools. Available in two sizes, and in Corten steel or powder-coated aluminium. It can also be supplied as a matched set with the Big Green Egg Large. Adezz make the aluminium version in a range of RAL colours, so if you would rather choose a colour than let it weather, contact the team and we will talk you through the options.

The Dome Pizza Oven. A wood-fired Corten dome that cooks up to two pizzas at once. It works on its own or on a matching Dome Station, available in two sizes, both with bamboo tops and storage below.

Outdoor Kitchen Stations. The prep and storage counter, in Corten with a curved bamboo work surface, in a Standard and a Large. The Large is the one to look at for a full run. Lower compartments take firewood or utensils and integrated hooks keep tools close to hand.

Seare plancha grills. A thick steel cooking ring that slopes inward, so fat and juices run towards the centre rather than off the edge. Available wood-fired or gas, and in more than one size, for anyone who wants live-fire plancha cooking alongside the rest of the kitchen.

Building it up over time

Start with a Kamado Station or the Dome oven, add an Outdoor Kitchen Station for prep and storage once you know which side you work from, then add a Seare grill if you want plancha cooking as well. Because the range shares a common material palette, the kitchen looks planned even when it has been bought over several seasons.

There is not much more to it than that, but if you would like a steer on which pieces suit your space, contact the team.

Adezz Forno outdoor kitchen FAQs

Does a Corten steel outdoor kitchen rust through?

No. Corten forms a stable oxide layer that protects the steel underneath and slows further corrosion. It is designed to live outside untreated, and the only maintenance required is that you hose it down with clean tap water once a year.

Can I stop the colour developing once I like it?

Yes. Let it weather until it reaches a tone you are happy with, then fix it with Owatrol, a rust inhibitor. It holds the colour where it is and stops the rust flaking off.

Does an Adezz Forno outdoor kitchen need any maintenance?

Some basic maintenance, and it is important to follow it. The manual supplied with the units sets it out. In short, the Corten and Neolith are made to stay outside all year and want an annual rinse with clean water, the Seare cooking plate wants oiling after use so it stays seasoned like a cast iron pan, and the bamboo benefits from an occasional wipe and a bamboo protector.

Can I use the Kamado Station with a grill I already own?

Usually yes. Adezz lists the Bastard L, Big Green Egg L, Kamado Joe Classic II and III, Monolith Classic and Yakiniku L. The station takes kamados from 50cm to 57.2cm in diameter and 38cm to 40.7cm high, so send us the model and dimensions and we will check it before you order.
