Fontana Pizza Ovens

Fontana Forni has been making pizza ovens in Italy for over 70 years, and that experience shows in the build. Every Fontana oven is manufactured in Italy with a reinforced 304-grade stainless steel structure and a refractory chamotte cooking floor, designed to heat quickly, hold temperature and turn out authentic wood-fired pizza, bread and roasts year after year.

The range stocked at Alfresco Chic currently centres on three core models, the compact Margherita, the versatile Mangiafuoco and the larger Marinara, each available as a wood-fired or dual-fuel oven. Whether you want a portable countertop oven or one set up on a trolley stand, there is a Fontana to match your space and the way you like to cook.

The Fontana Pizza Oven Range

Alfresco Chic currently stocks three models from the Fontana range, each available wood-fired or dual fuel. A wheeled trolley stand can be added to any of them, and some are also offered as Pro Bundles that pair the oven with a set of core tools to get you started.

Fontana Margherita

The Margherita is the most compact oven in the range and the most affordable way into a genuine Fontana. Its 60 x 60 cm cooking chamber cooks up to two pizzas at a time (two 10-inch or one 12-inch) and reaches full heat in around 30 to 40 minutes, making it ideal for couples, smaller families and anyone with limited space who still wants authentic wood-fired results. Available wood-fired or dual fuel.

Fontana Mangiafuoco

The Mangiafuoco is the most versatile oven in the range and a popular all-rounder. Its larger 80 x 60 cm cooking chamber cooks up to three pizzas at once, with room for bread and roasts alongside, which makes it well suited to regular family cooking and entertaining. Available wood-fired or dual fuel.

Fontana Marinara

The Marinara is the largest oven in the core range, built for keen cooks and frequent hosts. Its generous 80 x 80 cm cooking chamber cooks up to four pizzas at a time and handles bigger batches and longer sessions with ease, holding heat well throughout. Available wood-fired or dual fuel.

Wood-Fired or Dual Fuel?

Fontana ovens come in two fuel options.

Wood-fired models deliver the traditional experience and flavour, with the live flame and aroma that define proper Italian pizza.

Dual-fuel models are essentially gas ovens that can also be run on wood, using a conversion kit: a metal plate that sits over the gas burner. You cook on one fuel at a time rather than both together, so you can choose gas for fast, controllable heat midweek, or wood for the full flavour and occasion. Dual fuel is the more flexible choice for households that cook often.

Choosing the Right Fontana

As a general guide: the Margherita suits smaller spaces and household cooking, the Mangiafuoco is the versatile all-rounder for most gardens and the model many people settle on, and the Marinara is for larger gardens, frequent entertaining and bigger batches.

If you want the essentials in one purchase, look at the Pro Bundles, which add a set of core tools, and you can fit a trolley stand to any model for a mobile, freestanding oven you can position where you like.

Built in Italy to Last

Fontana ovens are manufactured in Italy, with over 70 years of oven-making behind the brand. The interior structure is reinforced 304-grade stainless steel, the cooking floor is food-safe refractory chamotte, and the oven is packed with natural rock wool insulation that holds the heat in and keeps the outer shell cooler to the touch.

The exterior is electro-galvanised steel finished in high-temperature paint to stand up to heat and weather. The result is rapid heat-up, strong heat retention and long-term durability outdoors. With a cover and reasonable care, a Fontana oven is a long-term outdoor investment rather than a seasonal buy.

Cooking Beyond Pizza

Like all good wood-fired ovens, a Fontana is not limited to pizza. The high temperatures and strong heat retention make it well suited to bread, focaccia, roasts, fish and slow-cooked dishes, so the oven works hard for you well beyond pizza night.

Accessories

A full range of Fontana accessories is available to complete your setup, including a Pro pizza peel and turner, an oven brush, leather oven gloves, a stainless steel grilling and roasting set, and oven covers to protect the oven between uses.

For a freestanding prep area, the Fontana Pizza Desk provides a dedicated mobile workstation, and the Pizzaiolo Kit gathers the core hand tools together in one bundle.

Fontana Pizza Oven FAQs

Where are Fontana pizza ovens made?

Fontana Forni manufactures its pizza ovens in Italy, and has done so for over 70 years. Each oven has a reinforced 304-grade stainless steel structure, a food-safe refractory chamotte cooking floor and natural rock wool insulation, built for rapid heat-up, strong heat retention and long-term outdoor durability.

What is the difference between the Margherita, Mangiafuoco and Marinara?

The three models differ mainly in cooking capacity. The Margherita has a 60 x 60 cm chamber and cooks up to two pizzas, suited to smaller spaces and household cooking. The Mangiafuoco has an 80 x 60 cm chamber and cooks up to three, the versatile mid-size all-rounder. The Marinara has an 80 x 80 cm chamber and cooks up to four, best for frequent entertaining and bigger batches. All three are available as wood-fired or dual fuel.

What is a dual-fuel Fontana oven?

A dual-fuel Fontana is essentially a gas oven that can also be run on wood. A conversion kit, a metal plate that sits over the gas burner, lets you switch to wood firing when you want it. You use one fuel at a time, not both together: gas for fast, controllable everyday heat, or wood for the traditional flavour and live-flame experience. It is the most flexible option for households that cook regularly.

What is a Fontana Pro Bundle?

A Pro Bundle pairs the oven with a set of core tools, so you have the essentials to start cooking straight away. A wheeled trolley stand is a separate option available on any Fontana oven, turning it into a mobile, freestanding setup; it is not part of the bundle itself.

Can you cook more than pizza in a Fontana oven?

Yes. The high heat and excellent heat retention make Fontana ovens well suited to bread, roasts, fish and slow-cooked dishes as well as pizza. Fontana also offers a roasting set and other accessories to extend what you can cook.
