BonFeu is a Dutch brand with a clear purpose: well-made fire pits and fire bowls that earn their place in a garden and stay there for years. Built from 3mm Corten steel, each fire pit in the range develops a rich, natural patina over time as the steel weathers naturally outdoors, creating a surface that looks better with age and protects the steel beneath from further corrosion.
Whether you are looking for a compact bowl for a smaller patio, a generous centrepiece for a larger garden, or a fire pit that doubles as a cooking station through compatible accessories, the BonFeu range offers a size and format to suit most outdoor setups.
The BonFeu Fire Pit Range
BonFeu's fire pits divide into two core lines: the BonBowl and the BonBowl Plus.
BonBowl
The BonBowl is BonFeu's original fire bowl, available in five sizes: 60cm, 80cm, 100cm, 120cm and 150cm. Designed for wood burning, it has a raised rim to contain ash and wood, and drainage holes at the base to prevent water pooling and improve airflow. The wide size range makes it adaptable to almost any garden or patio, from a compact courtyard to a generous outdoor entertaining area.
BonBowl Plus
The BonBowl Plus is a refinement of the original design, available in three sizes: 60cm, 80cm and 100cm. It sits on three legs and has two carrying handles, making it straightforward to reposition as needed. The slightly elevated profile keeps the fire more visible when gathered around it, and the BonBowl Plus is fully compatible with BonFeu's range of cooking accessories.
Choosing the Right BonFeu Fire Pit
The choice between BonBowl and BonBowl Plus comes down to size, use and preference.
If you want the largest available formats, including the 120cm and 150cm options, the BonBowl is the only option in the range. For those who want the convenience of legs and handles built into a more manageable size, the BonBowl Plus is the cleaner choice.
As a general guide: a 60cm or 80cm bowl suits smaller spaces and closer gatherings. A 100cm or 120cm bowl works well as a garden centrepiece in a medium to large outdoor space. The 150cm BonBowl is the statement option for generous gardens where scale and presence matter.
Corten Steel: Built to Weather
Corten steel is the material used throughout the BonFeu range, and it is well suited to the British outdoors. Unlike painted or powder-coated steel, Corten forms its own protective oxide layer as it weathers. This is the distinctive rust-toned surface that develops over the first weeks and months of outdoor exposure. Once formed, this layer slows further corrosion significantly, making Corten one of the more low-maintenance materials available for permanent outdoor fixtures.
No special treatment is required. BonFeu fire pits can be left outside year-round. Drainage holes at the base of each bowl prevent water from accumulating inside.
Cooking with BonFeu
BonFeu fire pits are compatible with a range of cooking accessories that allow you to grill and cook directly over the fire.
The BonGrill Full Circle sits across the top of the bowl and creates a full-circle grill surface, ideal for cooking larger quantities over the whole fire. The BonGrill Half Circle covers one half of the bowl, allowing you to cook on one side while tending the fire from the other. The BonPlancha Half Circle replaces the grill surface with a flat steel plate, suited to searing fish, meat and vegetables.
